Hot Rolled (HR)
Induction: Hot rolling is a rolling process that uses steel blanks as a raw material to roll steel at high temperatures (typically temperatures above 1700 °F), which is higher than the re-crystallization temperature of steel. When the steel is higher than the re-crystallization temperature, it can be easily shaped, and the steel can be made into a larger size. Hot rolled steel is generally less expensive than cold rolled steel because it is typically manufactured without any delay in the process and therefore does not require reheating of the steel. When the steel cools, it shrinks slightly, so the size and shape of the finished product is less controlled than cold rolling.
